Hi – I’m Melody! In 2012, my husband and I (along with our dog) wanted to both simplify and enrich our lives, so we sold nearly everything we owned and moved onto a 35′ sailboat which we’ve been traveling on ever since.
I’ve spent many days staring into the ocean for hours on end. I’ve found that it’s where I’m truly at peace. During my first offshore passage, I learned about tying knots and whipping ends of rope to pass the time. I also noticed how many pieces of sailing hardware could be fashioned into cool pieces of jewelry and began making jewelry from these sailboat parts.
I began selling my jewelry online and named my shop after my all-time favorite poem – Maggie and Milly and Molly and May by E.E. Cummings (below), which tells a story of 4 girls who venture down to the ocean to play. Each girl finds something that is unique to her, exposing each of their very different personalities.
I hope you find something unique, inspirational, and fun in my creations.
